Welcome reflects on fugacity and irresolution. The piece uses, on the one hand, a doormat as an analogy or symbolic image of the house. On the other hand, the piece, made out of concrete dust, articulates a contradiction by facing its fagility and flimsiness, with the strength and robustness that we usually relate to this constructive material (a solid and resistant one that, together with other materials, allows to built and lift a house). The doormat, installed on the floor, fades and dissapears over the time and, whit it, the ilussion of a home.
Bienvenido reflexiona sobre la fugacidad y la irresolución. La pieza, que toma el felpudo como imagen simbólica de la casa, fue realizada con cemento en polvo para poner en tensión la fragilidad y carácter endeble del tapete, con la resistencia y fortaleza que acostumbramos a otorgar al cemento como elemento constructivo; como material que contribuye a levantar y sostener un edificio, un hogar u otros espacios potencialmente habitables. Instalado en el suelo, el felpudo se desvanece y difumina paulatinamente, y con él, la ilusión de una casa.
